This policy applies to purchases made from AhaPower through ahapower.co.za, email, telephone, WhatsApp or directly from our premises. It should be read together with any applicable product-specific manufacturer warranty.

1. Delivery

AhaPower delivers to physical addresses within South Africa using The Courier Guy or another suitable courier where necessary.

Delivery charges are based on the destination, parcel size and weight, product type and selected delivery service. The applicable delivery charge will be shown at checkout or included in your quotation before payment.

Orders are processed during normal business hours after payment has cleared and stock availability has been confirmed. Estimated delivery times are guides and may be affected by stock availability, public holidays, severe weather, road conditions, courier capacity or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Batteries, solar equipment, inverters, generators and other heavy or regulated items may require special packaging, an alternative courier service or an additional delivery charge. We will contact you before dispatch if the delivery arrangements must change.

Unless another period is agreed with you, AhaPower will execute an online order within 30 days after receiving it. If an ordered product becomes unavailable, we will notify you and process any refund due in accordance with applicable law.

Delivery details

You must provide a complete and accurate physical address, postal code, recipient name, email address and working telephone number. AhaPower will not be responsible for delays or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer.

Someone must be available at the address to receive the order. If delivery cannot be completed because nobody is available, reasonable return or redelivery charges may be payable by the customer, except where AhaPower or the courier caused the failed delivery.

2. Tracking and receiving your order

Where tracking is available, you will receive a tracking number or delivery notification after dispatch. Courier updates may not appear immediately. Courier Guy deliveries can be tracked through The Courier Guy’s official website.

Please inspect the parcel as soon as reasonably possible. If it is visibly crushed, opened, leaking, damaged or appears to have been tampered with:

  • Record the condition on the courier’s delivery record, where possible.
  • Take clear photographs before opening the parcel.
  • Photograph the packaging, courier label, product and damage.
  • Keep all packaging, accessories and paperwork.
  • Notify AhaPower as soon as possible.

Safety notice: Do not install, connect, charge or use a product that appears unsafe, swollen, leaking, cracked, severely damaged or incorrectly supplied.

3. Damaged, incomplete or incorrect orders

If AhaPower supplied the wrong product, omitted an item or delivered a product that was damaged before delivery, please contact us with:

  • Your order or invoice number;
  • Your contact details;
  • A description of the problem;
  • Clear photographs or video of the item and packaging; and
  • The product model and serial number, where applicable.

Once the issue has been confirmed, we will arrange an appropriate collection, repair, replacement or refund in accordance with applicable law. Where AhaPower is responsible, AhaPower will carry the reasonable return cost.

4. Online purchase cooling-off period

Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, a consumer may cancel an online purchase without giving a reason within seven days after receiving the goods.

  • You must notify AhaPower of the cancellation within the seven-day period.
  • No cancellation penalty will be charged.
  • You are responsible only for the direct cost of returning the goods.
  • The goods must be returned complete and in substantially the condition in which they were received.
  • Any refund due will be processed within the period prescribed by applicable law.

This right may not apply to excluded transactions or products, including goods made to the customer’s specifications, clearly personalised goods or goods that by their nature cannot reasonably be returned.

5. Change-of-mind returns

Outside an applicable statutory cooling-off period, AhaPower is not required to accept a return merely because the customer changed their mind, ordered the wrong product, no longer needs it or found another product elsewhere.

AhaPower may approve a discretionary return if:

  • The return is requested within 30 days after delivery;
  • Written approval is obtained before the product is returned;
  • The product is unused, uninstalled, undamaged and suitable for resale;
  • The original packaging, manuals, accessories, labels and proof of purchase are included; and
  • The product is not specially ordered, customised, sold on clearance or designated as non-returnable.

The customer is responsible for approved change-of-mind return costs. Where lawful, a reasonable deduction may be made if the product’s value has been diminished through handling beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect it, or if packaging or accessories are missing.

6. Defective products and statutory warranty

Products supplied to consumers are covered by the implied warranty of quality under the Consumer Protection Act where applicable.

If, within six months after delivery, a product is unsafe, defective, not of good quality or not reasonably suitable for its ordinary intended purpose, the consumer may have the right to return it without penalty and at the supplier’s risk and expense. Subject to the Consumer Protection Act, the consumer may choose a repair, replacement or refund.

These protections do not cover problems caused by:

  • Misuse, abuse, neglect or accidental damage;
  • Incorrect installation, connection, charging or maintenance;
  • Failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions;
  • Use with incompatible or incorrectly rated equipment;
  • Unauthorised modification, tampering, repair or disassembly;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • External electrical faults, surges, short circuits, overcharging or excessive discharge;
  • Exposure to fire, water, excessive heat, corrosive substances or unsuitable conditions; or
  • Use for a purpose for which the product was not designed.

AhaPower may inspect or arrange reasonable testing to establish the fault and its cause. Assessment will not be used to unreasonably delay or deny a valid consumer claim.

7. Supervolt and Enertec battery warranty

Supervolt and Enertec batteries purchased from AhaPower carry a 30-month warranty from the date of delivery, subject to the relevant manufacturer’s warranty terms, operating specifications and the exclusions in this policy.

A battery with a confirmed manufacturing defect may be repaired or replaced in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty process. Where the Consumer Protection Act gives the customer a different remedy, the Act will prevail.

A battery warranty claim must include:

  • Proof of purchase;
  • The battery model and serial number;
  • A description of the application and connected equipment;
  • Photographs of the battery, terminals and installation;
  • The relevant charger, inverter, alternator or system specifications; and
  • Relevant voltage readings, test results and installation records.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, reverse polarity, incorrect charging voltage, overcharging, excessive discharge, short circuits, loose connections, incompatible equipment, physical damage, misuse, tampering or operation outside the manufacturer’s specifications.

The 30-month warranty runs alongside and does not reduce any rights provided by the Consumer Protection Act, including the applicable six-month implied warranty of quality.

8. How to request a return

Please do not send a product back without first contacting AhaPower.

  1. Email sales@ahapower.co.za or info@ahapower.co.za.
  2. Provide your order or invoice number and contact details.
  3. Describe the fault or reason for the return.
  4. Attach clear photographs, video, test results and serial numbers where relevant.
  5. Wait for a return reference and packing or collection instructions.
  6. Package the complete product securely for transport.

A return authorisation allows AhaPower to receive and assess the product. It does not automatically approve a refund, replacement or warranty claim.

Returning batteries and power equipment

Batteries must be isolated, protected against short circuits, kept upright, securely packed and free from leakage. Do not independently send batteries, solar equipment, inverters or generators through Courier Guy before AhaPower confirms the approved return method.

Courier Guy’s published standard terms exclude batteries, solar-related goods, inverters and generators from certain ordinary carrier liability protections unless otherwise agreed. AhaPower is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packaging or an unapproved transport method, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

9. Assessment, turnaround time and refunds

Returns and warranty claims normally take between two and four weeks to assess and finalise after AhaPower receives the product.

Complex testing, supplier assessment, manufacturer involvement or replacement-stock shortages may affect this estimate. We will provide reasonable updates if a material delay occurs. This estimated turnaround time does not override any mandatory statutory deadline or remedy.

Approved refunds will normally be made through the original payment method. Banking or payment-provider processing times may apply after the refund has been released.

If testing shows that the product operates correctly or that the damage falls outside warranty or statutory protection, AhaPower will explain the outcome. Reasonable testing, collection, return-delivery, repair or quotation charges may be payable where lawful and will be disclosed before further paid work is performed.

10. Installed and electrical products

For safety and diagnostic purposes, AhaPower may request installation photographs, a system diagram, technician’s report, installation records or a certificate of compliance for products installed into a solar, backup-power, automotive or electrical system.

Products should be installed by suitably qualified persons where required. Third-party installation does not automatically remove statutory rights, but damage caused by incorrect installation may not be covered. Do not remove seals, open battery casings, modify wiring or attempt unauthorised repairs.

11. Consumer rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, waive or limit a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

If any provision conflicts with the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or another applicable law, the applicable law will prevail and the remaining provisions will continue to operate.
